May News

It is hard to believe the last few weeks of school are here! Our last regular day of classes will be May 17th and our spring show and family picnic will be on May 18th.

May 18th schedule:

Sunbeams and Backyard Buddies will have a regular day from 9:15-11:30. Parents should pack a lunch, and join their child for the picnic from 11:30-12:15. If you are not staying for the picnic your child must be picked up at 11:30. Sunbeams and Backyard Buddies will not be singing in the spring program.

Preschool Pals, 123 kids, and ABC kids will have a regular day from 9:15-11:00. At 11:00 parents will return to BCP for the spring show in the FLC from 11:00-11:30. Each class will sing a few songs and our children moving onto kindergarten will receive a certificate. The picnic will follow from 11:30-12:15. If you are not staying for the picnic your child must be picked up at 11:30.

BCP will close at 11:30 for the picnic and all children must be picked up at this earlier time.

All Bethel Preschool Families are invited to join us in the back playground area for our annual Family Picnic. The picnic is from 11:30 to 12:15 and families are asked to bring a picnic lunch, drink and blanket or chairs. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to get together with their families to say good-bye to school friends, make plans for meeting over the summer, and visit with all the teachers.

We will meet in the Family Life Center in case of inclement weather.

Deposits for the 2017-18 school year are due May 1st (See enrollment form for amounts).

We still have a few spots available in all of our classes for the fall.

November Newsletter

Thank you to everyone that came out for our Trunk or Treat event! Pictures from this fun evening have been posted on our Facebook page.

The 123 Kids and ABC Kids had their first chapel with Pastor Mike this month. During chapel they learned about the importance of being thankful. Ask your child if they remember the song pastor Mike taught us. The next chapel will be on December 1 and will focus on the Christmas story.

We will be open on Election Day, November 8. BIUMC is a polling location and voters will be using the front entrance. Because of this we ask that the preschool families please use the rear entrance of the church on this day.

Parent teacher conferences are on November 17. There is no school on this day but childcare will be provided during your scheduled conference time. See your child’s teacher to sign up for a conference. *Sunbeams do not have conferences and will have class on this day

BCP will be closed on November 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving break. School will resume on November 28.

Tuesday November 8

Election Day

BCP will be open

Bethel International United Methodist church is a poling location (room 9/10). On this day we ask that families enter the building from the rear entrance of the church. Voters will be using the main entrance and the hall will be blocked off. On this day we will keep the classroom doors closed and locked.

Thank you!

October News

Happy fall! The temperatures are cooling down and the children have settled into their new classrooms. It is a joy to see their smiling faces each morning! Here at BCP we know how important outdoor playtime is and we send the child out as often as possible. Please send your child to school in weather appropriate clothing each day. October and November are going to be exciting months! We are preparing to begin some of our enrichment activities like music and movement, lunch bunch, and chapel.

Music and movement with Ms. Jeanne will be starting this month! Ms. Jeanne will be coming to BCP once a week to sing, dance, and do yoga with the children. Ms. Jeanne will be visiting on different days each week to ensure all the child get a chance to sing and dance and learn with her.

Lunch Bunch also starts this month. We currently only have two children enrolled and need at least two more to keep this fun enrichment opportunity available. Lunch Bunch is from 12:15-1:15 Wednesday in the 123 Kids classroom with Ms. Andrea, and 12:15-1:15 Thursday in the ABC Kids room with Ms. Melissa and Ms. Hana. The cost is only $7 a session. This is a great opportunity for our 3 year olds to meet the teachers they will have next year at BCP, and to spend time in their future classroom. For our four year olds it’s a great opportunity to extend the school day and prepare for kindergarten. Plus Lunch Bunch is fun! Stop in the office to pick up an enrollment form.

Chapel with Pastor Mike Pratt will begin in November for our 123 Kids and ABC kids. Please turn in your permission forms as soon as possible. Chapel will be on the first Thursday of each month from 9:40 to 10:00. During Chapel the children will visit BIUMC’s beautiful sanctuary and spend time singing songs and hearing a wonderful faith based children’s message from Pastor Mike. Diane Pratt, Pastor Mike’s wife, is a retired kindergarten teacher and helps to plan the chapel time activities.

Halloween! You are invited to join us for BIUMC’s annual Trunk or Treat event on October 30 from 5:30- 6:30 pm in the church parking lot. Wear your costumes and go trick or treating from trunk to trunk during this fun family event. You will be receiving more information about classroom Halloween parties from your child’s teachers. Halloween can be over stimulating and frightening to toddlers. Because of this we do not celebrate Halloween in our Sunbeam or Backyard Buddies classrooms.

·         We will be open on Columbus Day October 10.

·         Tuition is due on the first of each month

·         Please hold your child’s hand in the church parking lot. We want to keep them safe!
